Campground/Resort with cottage rental

We are looking for a campground/resort where the RV site has cottage included with the rental. We have seen many owner occupied type configurations where a small cottage with a bedroom is built along side the RV site to expand indoor living space. I have been unable to find one open to short term rental. We would like to invite extended family to join us on vacation, but don't have enough sleeping accommodations in our RV for everyone. We are hoping to find something along the Emerald Coast.

I know you want a cottage but have you considered a tent if all you want is sleeping space?

This is a tall order and there are very few, the one's that do have them may not offer the unit as part of the rental, one we have seen is Motorcoach Country Club Indio, CA. There are a few RV Campgroungs that also have cabins in the same campgrounds, look in the Campground threads in IRV2.

Since my posting last week I have found a couple resorts along the Gulf that offer this type of rental. It seems they are few and far between. I can understand why owners are reluctant to agree to such an arrangement. I actually ended up dealing directly with the site owner's representative, not the resort staff. After we talked awhile and the owners determined we were renting the site for ourselves (we are in our 50's)and my parents, the owners felt comfortable renting to us. It seems access to this type of rental agreement not widely advertised and is somewhat word of mouth. I found it is best to make a few phone calls to resorts in the area where you are wanting to visit and inquire. The resort itself may not offer the service, but the staff might know of an owner to does.
