I'm traveling from Houston to near Birmingham the first weekend in April. It looks like Slidell is about the halfway point. So I'm looking for a place to spend the night somewhere from Slidell to Hattiesburg. I want some place where I will safe and secure, so parking lots and rest stops probably won't do it this trip.

Okatoma Resort & RV Park is a nice safe place. It takes Passport America, we went in for a couple of nights last March and spent 8 nights. Great Verizon broadband there (you pass the tower on the way in). It is off of US-49 just past the county line and a few miles north of I-59 if your taking that. We paid $10 per night for a 50 amp FU site. Check:

RV Park Reviews :: Hattiesburg, Mississippi ( MS ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews

for more info and a link to their website. The new owners are great people and you can't beat the value.

Bob

There are about five parks in Picayune, Ms I've not stayed at any of them but with that many to choose from you should be able to find one suitable.

I would agree tha the Picayune area would be a good place to stay. About 20 minutes north of Slidell

Only 2 of those are in RV Park Reviews. Anyone know anything about these parks?
