Campground suggestions Florida Keys

Hi folks,
My wife, son, and myself typically summer RV with our 34' class A. Well, this past winter has changed our opinion of summer only vacations. Recently I have had the opportunity to conduct business a few times in the Keys. I have been from Largo to Key West, and have spent most of my time between Marathon and Islamorada. Unfortunately I haven't had the free time to explore the many RV campgrounds I've seen there.
My wife and I would like to plan a 2 week mini migration to that area next winter, probably sometime between mid March and the end of April window. Does anybody on here have suggestions from experience for us? My son is off to college, so this will be our first winter trip.

Thanks in advance,

Tim in NC

Sunshine Key Resort is decent...daily activities, full hookups, restaurant, marina. We stayed there this winter for 60 days and will again next winter.

I go with Blue Water Key. Tried the one just across the bridge from Key West...too tight and too expensive

Jolly Roger is okay, some waterfronts available also.

Bahia Honda State Park is okay also, need to plan ahead for reservation.

BlueWater key is of course top notch.

Hi RamblinOn,
2X on the recommendation for Sunshine Key. Mile marker 39. About 1 1/2 mile south of the seven mile bridge on the right side of the road. Go to Sunshine Key RV Resort & Marina | Encore RV Resort in Florida Keys for information. There is lots to do both north and south of the resort. One is 39 miles from Key West.

Thanks folks!
Do the state parks have full hookups?
I'm really fond of the Marathon and Islamorada area. Wife can sun while I fish!

We will be a Curry hammock State Park in Marathon for the next 2 weeks. Great place, They have 50 amp and water at the sites and a dump station . There are only 28 sites and a couple of them are occupied by hosts. About 1/2 of them are waterfront. Very hard to get reservations, but give it a shot, 11 months to the day that you want to arrive.

Jolly Roger on Marathon!

We have stayed there for the past two years. They have some waterfront spaces, a swimming pool and a swim area in the bay. They also have docks if you bring a boat. The bathrooms were just remodeled a year ago.

A year and half ago, we spent a week at Curry Hammock. Thankfully, they do have 50Amp and water. If careful with the water, you can make it a week before a dump station visit. The CG is very well kept, clean showers and some nice sunset. Critters abound(nothing that will eat you), but you do have to control your food - unless you don't mind sharing.

Thanks All,
Just thinking about it has me in the mood. Dragging the ole girl out this week to start getting her ready for summer, only, I won't be storing her for the upcoming winter cause we'll be headed to the Keys!!!
