Campgrounds in or near Ely, NV

Would anyone care to share their experiences in any of the campgrounds in Ely, NV? I have to spend a week there at the end of July, and would much rather take my wife and family and dogs and TT than go alone and stay in a hotel.

There are 3 campgrounds in Ely:
KOA: pricey, sites are crowded, permanent residents. There are shade trees.
Prospector Inn RV Park: Basically gravel, no grass, small trees. No bathrooms or shower facilties. Last time we stayed there the first night was free then it was about 12.00 a night afterwards.
Valley RV park: north of town, we have never stayed there. Looks like they have grass and trees. Permanent residents.
When we are in Ely we stay at Cave Lake State park, it is dry camping, but they have a shower facility, or at Ward Mountain, the USFS campground.
