I would like to see someone open a campground in Nags Head or Collington. There used to be one in Collington and was replaced by homes....

You're probably going to have a hard time finding a place that you can camp and see the beach and the waves because of the height of the dunes. They are, in some places, around 2 STORIES high because of the storms, especially winter storms. We stayed at Camp Hatteras in Rodanthe and instead of staying on the side with the beach, we stayed across the street on the sound side. You have the waterfront view (no beach), but you don't have all the dunes to block your view of the water. Very easy walk across the street to the beach, but our preference was to have the waterfront view. Enjoy your stay. We really had a nice time there on our trip in June.
