We are heading to CA in a few days and would like some campground info in the above areas. We are also a member of Passport America. I have heard of a few state campgrounds but have not found any.

I also like Corps of Engineer parks and Natinonal Parks too. Any information would be helpful, thanks.

Here is a map of the RV parks I know of within 50 miles of Camarillo. Looks like the only state park that comes up within 50 miles is Capinteria State Beach. Might find others if you increase the search distance. We have never stayed at any of these parks.

Here are parks within 50 miles of San Fran. The only one we have stayed at is the San Francisco North/Petaluma KOA. Nice park with tour buses into the city; traffic is bad, so trips are an all day affair.

If we were going to San Francisco again, I'd try Treasure Island RV Park. I believe it is within walking distance of commuter rail, and is closer in than Petaluma.
