Campgrounds in the Florida Keys

I'm looking for a recommendation for a campground in the Keys. We have a Class A motorhome and three dogs. Hoping to stay at least a week over the Christmas Holiday 2015. Thanks in advance.

We just stayed at Bluewater Key but there is a limit of 2 pets. Closer in towards Key West is KOA and then Boyd's. There are also state parks with waterfront camping a bit further out (thinking about mile marker 25-30-ish)

We stay on Marathon at the Jolly Rodger(Passport America is accepted)...central Keys...lots to see and do and there is a shuttle to take you farther south (all the way to Key West) for $1.50! Marathon has a very nice beach... ...Sombrero Beach....kayaking through the mangroves is really fun!

Bahia Honda State Park is very nice with 3 great beaches. It's 12 miles past (south of)
Marathon and is $36/day but camping is very in demand(42 RV sites). You would need to reserve 11 months ahead of time and even then it maybe difficult but worth trying.

Bluewater might bend on the 2 dog rule....contact them and see, then get on the list for xmas if they will do it. There are 2 different rental websites. Bluewater Key: "The ONLY OFFICIAL lot rentals and website for Bluewater Key RV Resort", The Most Beautiful RV Camping sites in Key West! and Bluewater Key RV Resort We have rented from both, but most often use Rita ( the .net site)
Another option is El Mar.... not much of a park, but very convenient to KW, on Stock Island down the street from Boyd's, and much more space than Boyd's.
Geiger Key Marina is a good place. Florida Keys RV campgrounds Tiki bar | Geiger Key Marina
Back in Marathon is Knights Key along with Jolly Rodger that was mentioned above . Grassy key is a fairly new park.. pretty much open with little vegetation.
RV PARK FLORIDA KEYS
The state parks ( Pennekamp, Long Key, Bahia Honda and Curry Hammock) are all great, just hard to get reservations.
Whatever you decide on, make your reservation ASAP. They book up.

Most years we stay at Fiesta Key (MM 70). We like it because we can swim nearby at Anne's Beach, hike nearby at Long Key State Park or snorkel right off the seawall at the RV park. Otherwise, the place is better kept than it used to be, under new management.

I apologize this will not be much assistance as we drive a car into the Keys.
But for those in the know, what is the campground (state park) off to the left on one of the keys perhaps 20 miles out? The campsites are literally 20 feet from the water. My wife and I slow everytime to look at the motorhomes. It looks as close to paradise as one can get.

There is another campground on the right on one of the busier islands (Islamorada perhaps) that looks like a big parking lot. Would not recommend staying there.

All campsites at Long Key State Park are along the beach. This park is about 40 miles
out into the Keys.

It's been quite a few years and we were tent camping on a kayak fishing trip with a small group. We stayed and Knight's Key Campground. I think it has changed ownership and possibly been developed more since we were there. It did have water front sites. It's in Marathon right at the end of the Seven Mile Bridge. Lots of amenities available in Marathon and a short drive back to Islamorada. Bahia Honda is just across the bridge. Could not recommend due to the time passed but maybe worth checking in to.
