This will be our first winter trip and Katrina changed our plans of traveling along the coast. Just wondered if any of you had good campground information for NC coast, SC coast, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

We are moving around a lot this winter and maybe next we will settle in one place.

We are both eager to do this as it has been a long time dream and hard to believe that we will be living it soon.

Thanks ahead for any information you can give us.

Linda

Most state campgrounds in the southeast are
full of Katrina evacuees. Most will not take
a reservation. It is first come first serve.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, but it does not have to be a state campground. Surely there would be something somewhere. I will have the laptop with me and the directory and look ahead I guess.

Thanks again,
Linda

Linda, NC and SC coast area should be fine now. School has started so the cg's should have space, the coasts have a lot of great places. Do call ahead. Remember it is still hurricane season, and right now another one is beating up the Atlantic coast. In October the mountain area is very difficult to find space due to the color season. A lot of the cg's have space but require a minimum of days to stay.
Enjoy your travels.

Linda,
If you're looking in the Myrtle Beach area of SC, Myrtle Beach TravelPark in North Myrtle is a good place. Temps are a little cool in the winter but the days are generally nice.

Thank you very much. I will look that site up and do some exploring.

It is getting closer and closer to leaving and we are both exited about our first snowbird trip.

My hubby just smiled when I told him that I am getting a scrapbook ready for our first trip and doing it along the way so it will be done when we get back home. We will have the memories in pictures for ever and also our mind.

Linda
