Planning to attend grandson's graduation from boot camp towards the end of August. Any ideas, pro or con, on area Campgrounds? WE will want FHU for motor home and we tow a car. As usual thanks in advance, you guys have never led me astray on any subject, Ken.....

We stayed at Sesqucentinnal SP last month. There is a dump station as you exit, and I also saw three sites with sewer. Wooded area, very large sites and recommended on RVParkreview.com

I agree; ask your Grandson if he is allowed to sponsor a guest at Weston Lake RV Park. They do not accept reservations, so it may be shaky getting a site (graduation) even if he is allowed to sponsor a guest there. I suppose you can arrive a few days in advance to better the chance of getting a site.

Thanks Tom we stayed at the suggested Sesquicentennial State Park. We had 50amp. water and access to the dump station on the way out. It is a very clean and quiet State Park wiyh many pull thrus. They are open year round and are less than 25 minutes away from Fort Jackson. The only down side is as with many State Parks they lock the gates from 10P.M. until 7 A.M., they do give you the combination to the lock (don't forget to have a flashlight handy). One great bennie is right across from the entrance is some of the best BBQ around. Again, a fellow IRV2er came through when needed Thanks, Ken.
P.S. if any of you ever have someone graduating from basic training at Fort Jackson you need to -plan to attend both the family day and the next day graduating ceremonies. The U.S. Army did it up rigjht with parking, seating, rest rooms, handicap access, give-away U.S. Flags, etc. and the ceremonies on the two different days will blow you away. You can rest assured our kids---no I take that back---our young men and women are in good hands. A proud grand father, Ken....
