A few years ago we stayed at the KOA in River Ridge https://koa.com/campgrounds/new-orleans/ it was a nice place and it's about 14 miles (30 minutes) to the French Quarter we used our dingy but the KOA mentions limited shuttle buses.

We stayed at this park last winter for a couple of weeks. It’s a nice quiet park but the mosquitos in the mornings and evenings almost picked us up and carried us away.

We live in NOLA ... and when we bring our motorhome over, we park it at Pontchartrain Landing. Yes, there is a bar overlooking the canal ... it is also a resturant. I will say, I don't stay in our motorhome when it is there, we stay in our house ... so, I can't comment on the bar at night. Other than that, it is a fairly nice campground ... unless it rains!

Most don't come to NOLA for the campground, they come to see the history and ambiance of NOLA. I would not hesitate to stay at PL again. Actually have reservations there for Memorial Day weekend.

French Quarter RV Park is great IF it's within your budget.
As others have said, the cost of the park is high but you also have to consider money saved by being close to everything but very safe and secure.

Stayed at the FQ RV park. Nice but pricey. Also stayed a few times at the KOA West of NO. Quiet, bike/walk trail across the street and shuttles to the Quarter. Also, best sandwich on the planet just down the road.
