We have a group of three families with children ranging from 4-16 years old who will be travelling to visit Penn's Cave near State College, PA. over the Memorial Day weekend. Any advise on campgrounds in the area? Thanks.

Superslif,

It sounds like most of the State Parks are booked up for that weekend already. We are currently checking into the Bellefonte KOA. Any experience with it?

We stayed at the Bellefonte KOA at least 3 times when my son's were going to the Penn State football camp when they were in high school. Nice pond for fishing and nice pool. Also big grassy area for tiring the dog out. I remember the pull throughs were short for my 35' footer and a toad.

If you get a chance go to the Penn State Creamery for the best ice cream you'll EVER have. Also visit the PA Military Museaum and Boal Mansion in Boalsburg, PA.

Reservations made for Bellefonte KOA! We will definitely try the Penn State Creamery. I've got to have my ice cream! Thanks for the help everyone.

Glad you got a site for the Memorial Day Weekend. In June we have a week reserved at Prince Gallitzin State Park which is about 40 miles west of State Collage. In the Altoona area there is Horseshoe Curve or Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site or Railroaders Memorial Museum
I checked to see that there are still a few electric sites available at Prince Gallitzin......They have over 400 sites....
