Looking for a campground just below tampa on west coast near the beach. Anyone have several to recommend for Feb-May?

Thanks
Johnny

If you want to be near the beach, you probably are too late. We booked 2 miles from Ft. Myers Beach last March and were told we had just missed going on the waiting list! Use a website like rvparkreviews.com. Good luck.

This is a favorite of ours, however it is small (77 lots). I don't think you will be able to get in since they fill up the winter season about a year in advance.

It is about 3/4 of a mile from Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria Island. Paved, level spots with brick paver patio's and nice landscaping!

The KOA in St Pete should have openings! Its in a great location and very close to some great beaches.

So sorry...It is for the first of 2014 that I am planning to go almost full time. I plan on retiring near the end of this year and looking for spots for then. Going to take a week off in March and drive to Tampa and look around. Then over to Indian River Shores on the east coast. I have a place picked out there, but have heard the water is better and it's more laid back on the Gulf side.

Thanks for the help.

JJ

CG near Tampa

It's not real close to Tampa. It's 90 mi south near Port charolette. There's a brand new Motorcoach Resort if you have a Class A. It opens Jan 5th. It's beautiful, but pricey.

Checkout Myakka River RV resort. Be careful there are two with similar names. You'll know it when you see the new facilities.
