Campgrounds on the Lower Florida Gulf Coast

Hello,

Any suggestions on campgrounds on the Florida gulf side, lower end, Ft. Meyers, Naples, islands, etc. Trying to book a couple of weeks mid-February. Preferably on the beach, if not, nearby. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't know if you will be able to get in, but check out Periwinkle RV park. Walking distance to the beach.

Oh ya, check out the bird show.

Have fun

Red Coconut RV Park. Ft Myers Beach. Has several sites right in the beach. Main campground is across the street. All sites are within 3 or 4 minutes to the beach.

Whatever you decide, you may be limited to a park that has availability in February. They book up way in advance mostly. Do your homework NOW and then make the calls soon. We stay in Naples and it's always full in February, but you could catch a cancellation.

Just looked at Periwinkle's web site, they are not pet friendly if that concern's you.
Thank's for your suggestion.

Had some friend's stay at Red Coconut two winter's ago for a week then they moved on.
They reported very crowded, couldn't even open the awning, dirty.
Just saying.
Check it out for yourselve's.

Drove through there two years ago just in the car while visiting a friend in Ft. Meyers and I thought the beach side was a dump.
