Well, after much discussion, reading, etc....DH and I have decided to spend two nights in Fort Wilderness (that's all they had available)in April instead of Myrtle Beach. Can anyone recommend good campgrounds along the I-75 route from Michigan? Maybe one in southern Kentucky, Southern GA or Northern Florida? We'll take two or three days driving down. Thank you!

In Perry, GA, just below Macon, we stayed at Fair Harbor RV Park. We found it to be a very nice place. They are a Good Sam park and also Passport America. Our Passport America rate was $14 a night.

Consider the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, KY. 859-259-4257, Exit 120 on I75. If you can, plan 2 nights and visit the park.

Oaks & Pines in Lake City, FL. Great place to stop for the 2nd night and puts you only 2-3 hours from FW depending on traffic.

One place to stay away from is Mountain Lake Marina in Lake City TN. We stayed there for our first night on the way to FW and it was awful. Long, winding road from the highway, hard to navigate in the dark. And there are only a few paved sites. We requested a paved pull through when we booked it, and confirmed just a couple of hours before we got there and they said that was what we were getting. We got there after the office was closed and they left our site assignment on a slipboard. It was a gravel back in site that we never could fit in. So we took another site and all night worried they were going to come make us move. The bathhouse wasn't open either even though they said it would be. I am definitely looking for another place for our next trip.

Thank you so much for all of your great advice. We haven't driven this route in over 12 years, so I'm sure things have changed. I prefer your advice to the ads I google!
