Campgrounds With Old Reviews - How Do You Handle Them?

Often on campgroundreviews.com I’ll find a place that has good reviews but none of them are recent. For clarity let’s say ‘recent’ means about 2 years.

Usually I’ll ignore anything older. But maybe I’m missing out? How do you look at these campgrounds?

My FIRST thought is that they are now closed, and then I check their website to see what I can find there.
If they are still open, then in my mind, over two years old is bordering on meaningless, SO much could have changed in that time - good or bad.
Check another campground reviews site to see if there is something more current.

When we are traveling to a boondocking spot, or we need a full hook up for one reason or another we just take a chance.

a lot of the campgrounds I know from 10+ yrs ago haven't changed much. (yes there will always be exceptions) I don't see a issue with a 2 or 5 yr old review(s) One tool I use is to check the reviewer profiles, what info or lack of info that is on the reviewer profile will help me decide whether to visit the campground.

This is my thinking,

EXP: a 5 yr old review, profile still active posting reviews, as multiple reviews, reviewer profile has additional info to help the rv community
(better chance I would consider the review)

EXP: a 5 yr old review, profile not active posting reviews, as one or few reviews, reviewer profile has no additional info to help the rv community
(less chance I would consider the review)

You can sometimes find more recent reviews on Google.
