We stayed at FW for a week this Jan and it was great ! Most of the sites are shaded but our sat reception was good. Our site also had a cable tv hookup as well so it was not really an issue.

Forgive me if I end up raining on someones parade but I've stayed at Fort Wilderness many times, been to everything that Disney World has to offer, Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, etc. and all of the times I've been there, I really didn't have time to sit and watch TV as I was on the go from the time we woke up to well after the Fireworks show, Electric Light Parade, Hoop-De-Do Review Show, etc. Who would want to spend time watching TV when there is way too much stuff to do and keep yourself busy within the park.

OMHO !!

We celebrated our anniversary at Disney World last year, but we did not camp there. We stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We wanted to see the campground, but just did not have the time. As you said, there is so much to see and do.

Is there anything special in the campground itself?

Other than some very nice, level and shaded sites there are a couple of stores called 'Trading Posts,' a restaurant called the 'Trail's End,' a bar, huge swimming pool, fenced dog park, playground, beach, marina with rental boats, jet-skis and bass fishing guides, dog kennels, and the theater where they do the Hoop De Doo review. They have a nightly campfire and movie.

I've been there many times but have not gone to the parks in several years. Maybe in April. The grandkids don't ever want to leave the pool. We watch the cable TV hookups for the weather but that is about it. I go to a place like that to avoid watching the news. But thats just me.
