Camping in east tennessee...

I will be taking possession of a heartland north trail travel trailer this weekend, and I am looking for different campground around Knoxville. I have been looking at reviews of CG's in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. There are plenty to choose from, have any of you been to this part of TN. I am leaning towards Fox Fire CG which is closer to Cosby., but I have not seen any reviews of it. I did not want to be in a CG that was too crowded, I hope it's nice. Thanks in advance.

We just spent a week in "camping in the smokies", a small campground on 321 outside of gatlinburg. It was very nice, big sites, good wifi and cable, not crouded. very small campground.

We've also stay in tremont, that was very nice too.

Any campground near Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or the Smokies will be crowded in the summer, especially on weekends. During the week they are less crowded. Any of the recreation areas/campgrounds around Tellico or other lakes are also normally crowded. You can normally find a space and have a good time, but typically you will not be alone. Enjoy your new RV.

We stay at Twin Creeks. Super location with a trolly stop right in front. I would strongly suggest using the trolly as traffic in towns is killer!

We stayed in gatlinburg in a cabin and were chased by a bear! Be careful of the bears. I actually have it on YouTube of it trying to get into the cabin! I will see if I can find the link. It's very pretty. We went a year ago today. You should be able to see lots of bears. Lots of hiking trails and alot of Ripley's believe it or not places. It very touristy in gatlinburg.

Here is a link to the bear! The next day we were chased when we went to go into the cabin.

Twin creeks is right down the raod from camping in the smokies. It looked nice, in a different kinda way. More blacktop, smaller sites, probably more to do, certainly more nieghbors, a much larger fancier campground.

I have stayed in alot of campgrounds in that area over the years. Last summer I stayed for a week at Foothills Rv Park in Pigeon Forge. I would deffinately reccomend it. Very small, and clean. There are a few others I am considering too if you want to be a little more out of town and more in nature. try the link below, good reviews
