Camping in the Charlotte area in January

Anyone have any experience staying in the Charlotte NC in mid january? Weather? typically above freezing? Any precautions to take? Looking at the KOA in Fort Mill for 3 days only then back to Florida.

I live in the area. It can be cold, below freezing at night. But it also can be pretty warm. So far this year we are having a warm winter. Been above 60 last 10 days or more....

The KOA in Ft Mill is nice, I recomend it.

Have a great trip.

Hi bobgio,
Depends on what you need and what you are doing. Consider the NASCAR Raceway in Concord. I think the name remains Tom Johnson's CG. It is the only place I stay when in the area. It is close to the family and everything I need.

The CG map is at http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/camping/maps/
