Sorry, didn't realize their new website did not help much for rentals....check www.waterfrontkeys.com and they have a link for "VO rentals". I have stayed there twice and am not an owner.

Thanks for the link. Looks nice. Definitely on my potential parks list for the Keyes.

I am not sure if you can camp with large rv but you can tent camp and or popup camp at a state park just before big pine key. Its called BAHIA HONDA florida state park. I have tent camped there and went there many time for day trips. They actually have a real sand beach! The place was voted best beach in the continental us by conde naste magazine in 1994. you can find out all the info and reserve a site online at the florida state parks website. I will be there for halloween this year staying in a cabin on the lagoon. It books up well in advance(i booked the cabin in 12/06) and is quite reasonable for the tent sites with electricity to run the ac in the tent. I don't know about rv sites but i have seen 28 or 30 foot rvs parked at the beach there. The only draw back is sometimes there is seaweed on the beach. They have kayak and boat rentals and a snorkel trip leaves daily from the park marina.

Freaky Coincidence Not 5 minutes before I read your last post, my BIL told me to check out Bahia Honda while Im in the Keyes. Now that I have 2 referrals I guess it's gonna be on my tour stop list.
Thanks
Joe

We stayed at Siesta Key a few months ago. It was a holiday so it was crowded. The surface is all gravel so dirt doesn't get into your rig but you do have to develop a laid back approach to driving. The Camp ground had wall to wall kids in the pool so we went to Key West for the day to swim. I suggest you try Monty's. You can have lunch by the pool and swim in their very big pool. My wife was working on perfecting her Rum Runner recipe so I don't remember much else. I do remember watching all the drunk people trying to get their boats out of the water at the boat ramp in the camp ground. Great fun that.
