Camping info for Delaware/Maryland coastal areas?

We are looking to find an Ocean getaway with our children and grandchildren. Can anyone recommend campgrounds on the coasts for the Delaware/Maryland area? Hoping to find RV spots and Cabins for August 2015.

Safe travels and THE JOY IS IN THE RIDE

There's very little available near the beach, but the Delaware Seashore State Park has campsites within walking distance to the beach and cottages a bit farther away.

Try Castaways near Ocean City. I have heard good things.

Good luck getting a reservation at castaways in MD. And Delaware has very little to offer anymore except the state park. Delaware is long overdue for a resort type campground on the water.

There's very little camping near the ocean/bay, etc. as any property is worth much more for other uses.

Try Frontier Town: Ocean City, Maryland Camping , Castaways RV resort or Island resort.
The kids will love it. All not to far from the boardwalk.

Assateague State Park in Maryland is by far your best choice. Very large campground nestled in the dunes of this beautiful barrier island on the boundary of VA/MD. Lots of wild horses, many times right in your campsite. Bathhouses are being all redone. Check website for closures. We stayed last summer and our bath house was brand new. You can hear the ocean from your campsite and the beach is very short walk up and over the dune. Lots of great biking as well. Ocean City just up the road from the park. Could not stay longer than a few days because we had no reservations. Book now if you want to go.
Assateague State Park Map

350 sites are available, each with a fire ring and picnic table.
Electric hook-ups are available in the H-Loop only.
Most campsites can be reserved from April 22, 2015 through October 25, 2015.

Other choice is National Seashore Campgrounds just down the road but they are not as close to the ocean.
