Camping near Dinosaur National Monument

Ok, my last question got such good results I will ask about another location. We will also be around Dinosaur National Monument around mid July with our 38' fifth wheel. Any campground recommendations for that area?

This past summer we stayed at the KOA in Vernal Utah. Real nice place and the camp hosts were very friendly. Nice swimming pool too. Not that far a drive to the park. If you are going in from the Colorado side then I am of no help!
If you go to the visitor center take some time to explore with your vehicle the roads that go all the way to an old homestead. Some petroglyphs along the way and beautiful scenery.

Look over this map - https://binged.it/2Cb0BrK - Zoom in to see the sites on Satellite View.

Threw in Lakeside at Flaming Gorge, just in case you had time.

Best of Luck,

We stayed at the Green River campground in the monument last summer in our 34' 5th wheel. They may have spots large enough for you. There are no hookups and no fresh water fill. The only water is for dishwashing or water jugs. They have a dearth of fresh water. Plus, you can expect it to be really HOT!

We stayed at Green River Campground in July. Here are some pictures.
1994 Brave 29RQ RV: Green River Campground - Dinosaur National Monument

It was really hot. My husband and others tubed, played or floated in the river to cool off.

We had planned to stay for three nights but it was too hot so we left after the second and headed out to Rifle CO.

I think it is a great place to stay but maybe not in July. Don't know how well it would fit your size rig.

Continue north on 191 to the Flaming Gorge Nat'l Rec Area. It's much cooler at 7,000+ elevation and it's on your way to Grand Teton. With our 40' motorhome and Jeep we've stayed at Firefighters Memorial campground overlooking Flaming Gorge. Beautiful campground with big sites.

Then do a day trip to Dinosaur where it's much hotter. One day is all you need.

Firefighters Memorial
