Camping near Las Vegas Motor Speedway

We will be attending the Red Bull Air Races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway October 17 and 18th. For NASCAR events, the Speedway allows overnight RV parking and tailgating, but they aren't for the Red Bull races. We can pull into the "oversize" parking lot and tailgate during the day, but can't stay over night.

We could reserve a spot at either Sam's Town or the Oasis, and head out to the speedway in the morning and back in the evening...looks like about 25 easy miles each way, but what other options are out there? Any place to boondock near the speedway that's quiet and safe? We've not been to the speedway before, but have been to North Las Vegas and Nellis...not sure I would want to boondock near either of those...would appreciate any insight or info from folks who have "been there and done that".

There is a dirt road going off to the right a few miles past the race track. The dirt road goes to some dunes so if you have toys take them. You only go about 1/4 mile from pavement then free parking is on left. The ground is hard and it's a huge spot.

Thank you, Arizona! On google maps is it called the "Nellis Bypass"? We DO have toys (dirt bikes), but don't expect we'll have time to tear up the dirt this trip...

You might try the Clark County Shoooting Complex. They have a fair number of FHU pull through sites and are very reasonably priced. Much closer but not as nice as Oasis. No real amenities unless you are into shooting. Could work if they are not holding a tournament at the same time.
