Near Helen, GA, small park but one of the best I've ever been to. Check it out! Creekwood Resort, Sautee, GA.

Clifftail has it right. River Vista Mountain Village is a great campground. Besides all the amenities it is a centralized location where you can explore NE Georgia, the Highlands/Cashiers area of NC as well as the Franklin/Cheroke area of western NC.

I like to stay on Lake Oconee at North Shore, I dont think you have to be a member anymore to stay, but I would call and find out. Their original sister park was my "home park" beofre I did away with all that nonsence
I get the sites with the huge wood deck on the bluff over looking the lake

You don't say where in North GA or for how long.
We stayed here Welcome to Twin Oaks - Twin Oaks RV Park on our way to FL and back and really liked the park. Great staff, close to I 75.

What would the weather in North Georgia typically look like in February?
(there is snow on the ground outside my door so I won't be hard to please!)

Temperatures around Blairesville in Feb range typically range from the low twenties to the mid fifties. Snow is intermittent but you can get snowed in in the mountains. However, they plow them better these days. The mountains are beautiful most any time and some of the state parks are a nifty place to stay. Tell me what you in to and I'll tell you where to go.

We're trying to get away from snow so definitely not excited about that!
We'll be traveling mid to end of February and staying for the month of March. We're naturally drawn to the coast and have one week reserved at Hunting Island.
We like the privacy that often comes with State Parks but we don't tow a vehicle so don't like to get too remote.
Any recommendations are certainly welcome!

Try River Bend in Hiawassee. Going to be cold anywhere in those hills however.
Or maybe Moccasin Creek SP on Lake Burton.

Correct, we lived in Murphy NC for five years. Ten minutes from Blairsville, twenty from Hawiassee. Some nice days mostly very cold!
