We are looking for our first experience in Arizona this winter. We travel with another couple with two units: one RV and our fifth wheel. We are looking for new adventures but want to not be near the railroad tracks or major highways. We like to fish, walk and do adventure activities. Looking for 60F - 70F weather. We are from Ontario, Canada. Any suggestions for a month plus adventure. Thanks for any ideas. Norm and Betty Ryder

Stay away from Benson, AZ. Railroad goes thru center of town, and blows its' whistle at each street crossing. All night long.

We spent this past February at De Anza Trails RV Resort in Amado, AZ. Amado is about half way between Tucson and the Mexican border and 7 or 8 miles south of the popular retirement community of Green Valley. It was recommended to us by friends. When we first got there, we thought, what the heck? Where are we and why would we want to be here anyway? But it turns out it is fairly centrally located for a lot of interesting day trips to Tombstone, Tucson, Nogales, Sonoita, Patagonia, Karchner Caverns, etc.

The park itself is not too fancy but has an indoor pool, game rooms, and laundry facilities. The roads within the park are paved, wide and easy to maneuver, the sites are gravel, very roomy, plenty of room for a 45 footer plus "patio" area and tow car.

Temps dropped below freezing several nights and it was still cold in the mornings many times, but the days were very pleasant, usually high 60s to low 70s and even into the 80s several times.

If you go, request a space facing the mountains (east I think) for the best view.
