I stay at St Louis RV Park, it is a long walk to Arch, but not the best neighborhood. I love location because cheap cab ride everywhere downtown. Nice older couple own it, Police Department is across the street. Totally fenced with gate at night. It has full hook ups but it is only an asphalt parking lot. Very close to the Hill, Anhueser Busch, etc. We used Toad to go everywhere but Downtown except early part of the day. Closest facility downtown, Wife and I walked to Downtown arena and Arch during the day, but don't go down side streets. St Louis RV Park is of Martin Luther King Blvd and Jefferson.
Welcome to St. Louis RV Park

If Downtown isn 't your thing, there is a nice campground at St Charles, I have never stayed their but it looked nice when we drove by.

If you want more of a country atmosphere but still close enough to the city for excursions, we love Edmund Baker State Park - if you can get a reservation. It's a busy place. It has manicured grassy sites, beautiful trees and the park itself is huge with many hiking trails and is excellent for bike riding. There is a dump station and water fill. It's an easy access to the expressway taking you into the city.

I've stayed in the Casino Queen RV park right across the river in East St. Louis. The casino will shuttle you to the train station and you can be at the arch in two stops and even take the train right to the stadium.
Plenty of security so always felt safe there.

Casino Queen is quieter and more convenient than downtown. Neither is kid friendly. If you have a toad or tow, and want to have a really nice day head to Grants Farm, about 12 miles from the CQ. This is an amazing place, owned by the Busch family. This is where the Clydesdales go to their first school before pass or fail to move on to the real deal. Beautiful place, great day.

Casino Queen is great. The casino will shuttle you over to the ball park for baseball, games and when we were going downtown, we left our truck parked and used the Metro. We did not feel unsafe at all. They do have a playground for kids in the RV park but kids cannot go into the casino. We were very pleased with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. We will be going back for another stay.
