Campsite Recommendations - Niagara Falls

Our 2017 Trip plans include travel to Niagara Falls and we are seeking recommendations on the best campsites in the area, be they in NY state or Ontario CA. We're a Big Rig @ 45+25; 70 Ft and would prefer a concrete or asphalt pad in a nice park, but also want something close to the Falls.

Seeking recommendations from fellow forum members here for suitable sites they have visited/used. Also, preferences - have been told the Ontario side is much better to camp/stay vs. the NY side - all feedback welcomed!

We've stayed at Branches of the Niagara campground on Grand Island. Spots are plenty large - lots of big rigs there.

I have never camped in the Niagara Falls region but have visited many times.

The Canadian side is a lot more touristy with a lot of fun attractions, better access to the Falls themselves, and I am sure camp grounds that could handle your large rig and tow.

A suggestion I would make is look at "Niagara On The Lake", Ontario, CN.

It is a neat "little" town "just up the road" from Niagara Falls, Canada. There are a lot of neat wineries around Niagara On The Lake.

I looked at RV Park Reviews and didn't see a camp ground in Niagara On The Lake - - too bad but I believe there are some CGs close by.

Niagara Falls, ON Campground Reviews - Best of Niagara Falls Camping - RV Park Reviews

One thing to consider, the roads/streets in and around the Falls on the Canadian side are sometimes narrow and crowed in the summer season - - may not be good for a 70' rig and tow.

Also, check out the Canadian Customs as there are items you cannot bring across from the USA - - I am not sure but fresh fruit may be one item, you can check it out here:

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citize...-mexico-travel

and

Canada Border Crossing | Rules, Regulations, Passports

You will need a current Passport for all travelers. Check out the exchange rate before you leave, most establishments will take American money in and around the Falls, but getting some Canadian cash might have a better exchange rate and you will get Canadian $$ back as change in most instances.

Niagara Falls region is a great place to stay. Not sure what your plans are for after the Falls, but Toronto is a short distance away.

Have fun - - be safe, great destination for a trip.

We stayed last year for Labour Day weekend at the KOA on the Canadian side. Great park well run very clean well-maintained. Staff is friendly.

We had a pull through site, located near the front of the park. All hook ups were at the center of the site with no long runs.

not a park dedicated to seasonal campers majority is overnight stays. It's a full-service resort KOA. So lots of things to do for the kids.

I would highly recommend

what was nice about this Park was, for once the fire pit was not where my canopy would be.

Canadian side is best. In 2014 we stayed at KOA north, 1 mile from regional dump. Luckily for us wind was blowing other way, nice campground but could be smelly.

Grand Island KOA nice and 10 min. from the falls. You need to get reservations now if you want a deluxe site with all you mentioned. Just a little pricey in my mind but we always stay there to see the family in the summer and the place is great for big rigs. jmo mark
