Cane Creek NC

Just set up camp at Cane Creek Park near Waxhaw NC. Yeah we're only 20 minutes from home, but when you're in the RV in a campground it feels like you're a long long way from home.

Sometimes it is just good to get a couple of miles from home. Good for maiden or seasonal shakedown, or just for a change of scene. Enjoy!

Our first weekend trips in our new RV were to a state park campground less than 5 miles from home. Could just as well have been 500.

Late report, but we had a good time at CC last weekend. My BIL and his wife joined us in their Heartland MPG trailer on side by side sites. Big storm rolled through about 7 PM and knocked out power until about 3 AM. no problem, we ARE camping after all.

CG report: it appears they have made some minor improvements to the CG and it is now well maintained. Lake and swimming area are now nice and clean (it was getting a bit run down our last trip a few years ago.) The only complaint is they require a lifeguard on duty to open the swimming area, and they only have money to pay the lifeguard from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. lots of folks like to swim in the mornings and after dinner. Most places like this have "swim at your own risk" swimming areas. No big problem and all in all a nice weekend.
