caravan to Baja, Mexico

We are considering joining a caravan called Baja Winters this coming Feb. for about a month. Seems like a good operation but have not seen any reviews of them. John & Becky Smith are the owners and trip leaders. We would appreciate any information on them.

Should be fun. We went down six years ago by ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just googled Baja Winters and the prices seem reasonable. Loreto, San Ignacio and Mulege are delightfu.l

They have been around for a long time. They must be good since they have managed to survive the great recession and all the bad publicity about traveling in Mexico.

Yes they have. At least their own web site says so. Trouble is no one seems to have actually taken a trip with them at least no one has posted anything we can find. In fact there doesn't seem to be any posts since 2013.

You went alone huh. Great, any advice or avoid highlites you can point us at? We would love to be in contact with you on this but do'nt know how without listing our address. Don't have a problem with that either except for the junk mail we might get instead from advertisers who listen in (has happened to me before).

Have you checked at Baja Nomads? There may be someone there with recent experience with Baja Winters. How about Vagabundos Del Mar? They used to be really big in the Baja travel scene. I went looking for several forums about Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) and last I looked there were none. Many of the Mexico forums I used to read, about various parts of the county, have either disappeared or nearly so. Wish it weren't so!
