Carlsbad Caverns
Can someone give me the skinny on entering the park, parking the rig there, and cost of touring the cave. I have seen the fees for different tours, and the entering the park fee. I would like to pull my rig in park on the parking lot and do the tour is this how it can work?

Here's the official park site to answer your questions: Carlsbad Caverns National Park (U.S. National Park Service)
Every national park has a site like this for your future reference as to cost, tours, etc.

I checked the reference and thanks for the update. But it doesn't tell me if I can pull my rig onto the parking lot. I was hoping someone might of been there done that... Thanks anyway

FYI I guess no one has every been there! I wrote to the information center there and they say you can park your rig on the back of the lot...

I wanted to go this year, but think it may happen next year instead.

Here's a link to a satellite view of the Carlsbad Caverns Visitor Center on Google Maps. If it works for you, notice the big rigs and RVs in the parking lot to the left of the visitor center.
Our plans to visit the Caverns last OCT were nixed by the government shutdown.

I've been there but not in my rig, only using my car. There is plenty of space for parking large RV's and trucks. They also have designated spaces for RV's and vehicles pulling trailers.
What I do when I am unsure about parking, space to maneuver and ease of ingress and egress, I use Google Maps in Satellite mode and fly the route in person prior to arriving. That way I know exactly what I am dealing with.

We went there this past spring. The caverns are great & we have been to many different ones. Carlsbad has got to rank up there with one of my favorites. We drove our car in, we were warned that it is a rough drive with a big rig. I disagree. As for the tours & prices, I don't remember the prices. We did the self guided tour & rented one audio box that explained many key points in the cavern. We took our time & spent 4 hours doing our tour. I would highly recommend doing the self guided tour, you can't get lost, well paved with railings. We walked down the original entrance & took the elevator out.
We camped at the state park in Carlsbad about 20 miles from the caverns.
As a side note, if your DW is into quilting there is a great quilt shop in down town Carlsbad that my DW made me stop at. They now have several of my hard earned $$$.
Enjoy your trip.
