Just left Brantley Lake It is a nice campground. 4 sites have full hook up the other 23 water and electricity only. Can't beat the price. 18 & 12 dollars a night respectively

We have stayed at the KOA and it was fine. However, it is, I recall, a ~40 minute trip to the Caverns from the CG. We didn't find that to be a problem, but some might.

We stayed at Guadalupe Mtns. National Park maybe 20 miles or so south. However, it is a small campground, dry camping, and first come/first serve. We liked it and did some nice hikes in this park.

We also had a good experience at Carlsbad KOA in June, 2014.
