Need to camp in the vicinity of Carmel, IN in spring of '09, but am unable to locate a campground within 20 miles. Have located a County Park (White River) but nothing else. Would appreciate if anyone knowing the area could help.

Hi Red,
The closest CG I found is the Indiana State Fair Grounds 317-927-7510. It's about 12 miles from Carmel.

Red, The two campgrounds that are mentioned[Indiana State Fairgrounds and White RiverCampground] are both fairly close to Carmel,IN. The Fairground has full hook-ups w/50 amp elect, but is just a place to park @ $25 per night. The White River Campground is set along White River out in the country. It has full hook-ups w/50 amp elect @ $20 per night or $120 per week. If you are there during the rainy season, the river might rise enough to make you relocate. Both locations are cash or check only and are the closest campgrounds to Carmel that I know about. Good Luck, Indiana Journey
