Carrabelle Beach RV Park Florida Gulf Coast

We are headed for our third year for a Memorial Day weekend to Carrabelle RV park in Florida's panhandle. They have just remodeled half of their park and added great concrete parking pads/patios and new utilities. We enjoy this nice park right across US 98 from the Gulf of Mexico. NO OIL spill is present and we look forward to spending time boating and swimming. They have a nice pool and deck area, nice bath house and club house. NO highrises on this beach, just old Florida. Good seafood and Dog Island is close by and great for visiting but only by boat or plane. FYI, Dog Island was used for training our troops before the invasion of France. A very historical area for military historians.

On Memorial Day let us never forget what our veterans paid for our freedom and peace.

Our country shall be forever indebted.

Enjoy your holiday. It's a beautiful area. Scoff a few oysters and shrimp for me.

Thanks guy.

We are planning a Chicken BBQ and a Fish & Shrimp Fry. Weather shows 50% rain, hope it is during the night to cool things down a bit.

Everyone be safe.

Since you mentioned military training on Dog Island, you might be interested to know that during WWII there was a military installation near there called "Camp Gordon Johnson". I believe their training was primarily amphibious landings and assault.

Yes SLAMMER, There is a great local museum there for all WWII history fans. I have been through it and it is well worth a visit when in the area.

New renovated RV park was just super. They have done a nice job. New spaces, new concrete pads, lots of palms and great water views.

We always enjoy walking to Two Al's, a quirky little restaurant near the beach and campground.
Also Apalachicola is a wonderful place to visit, walk around the town and enjoy the shops and great seafood. Drive around town and check out the beautiful coastal houses, they are very rv friendly.

HI INNKEEPER

We have had several good meals down at the Two Als. Prices are good and they give you plenty. Nothing fancy, kinda the Old Florida look.

I guess you would agree they have really fixed up the RV park and I think it is one of the nicest in the panhandle of Florida now.

St. George Island is another good side trip. Did you see they rebuilt and restored the old lighthouse. It had fallen into the Gulf several years ago and a local group saved what they could salvage and put her back together at the beach end of the St. George Island bridge.

Haven't been there since a year ago April, we had to head home early this year, anxious to see the changes. We live in Wisconsin, but wish we were there for Memorial Day!
