How many hours do you want to travel and at what speed? There are many options between the two, you are looking at less than 9 hours windshield time between the two with dry roads. So depends on your travel speed and number of hours you want to drive?

WaKeeny is a little past halfway, has a KOA if you want full hook ups?

Hays is a little past halfway (approximately 5 1/4 hours windshield), there is a Home Depot and Walmart you could park overnight just north of I-70.

Russell is about 5 3/4 hours from Denver and has a campground.

I like staying at Jellystone in Lawrence, not the best place but I love location and how quiet it is at night. Some railroad noise but I run a noise maker overnight to drown it out.

We are in no hurry so plan on about 200/300 m per day , we like casinos or something in small town ( no toad ) we will leave home with full tanks so walmart or Home Depots work for a couple of nights
Thanks for the advice
