CG for class A near Beckly WV?

Hello everyone,

My DW is from Beckley WV. She will have her many many years class reunion very soon and we would like to take our 44 ft. MH to the immediate area but our research has not shown any reliable CG that would be comfortable with our rig. Has anyone visited that area recently with a large class A and found a comfortable location? Thank you for your input!: : :

Try the coal mine museum.. We stayed there with a 40' unit a few years back.

Hi Clayobx,
There is no good choice. Do not use the coal mine CG. I have a 40' coach and it was very difficult to get to the CG and then get into a site. Only 30 AMP is available. For 50 AMP service consider:
1. Lake Stephens Campground - 304-934-5322
2. Shady Rest RV Park 304-763-4832
Neither of these CGs is anything to write home about. However, it is about all that is available. FYI, the 30 AMP service available at the other CGs has historically been a weak 30 AMPs

Gary's correct, there's really nothing in the immediate vicinity. Lake Stephens would be the closest, IMO. Just be prepared for slow going on the typical WV country road to get there.

If you don't mind going a bit farther out, 20 miles or so south is Camp Creek SP. It's a gorgeous state park, MH friendly with a handful of w/e (50a) sites. If you can do just electric only, there are more of those, you just fill up before getting to your site or come in with your fresh full. You'd want in the Mash Fork CG as the other 2 are primitive or horse/trailer.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Thanks to all! Guess my options are limited. Think I will go up the road towards Greenbrier WV.
