Hello everyone:
I'm presently in TN on my way to Va,I'd like to stay in the area of Staunton for a month to visit the beautiful mountains,I have
contacted Walnut Hills CG but they have not pull
thru sites for the term of one month.Does anyone know of a decent CG in the area where I might find hiking trails and pull thrus? It will
have to be close to the mountains of the NW of
VA.....Many thanks in advance for any suggestions, araucano.

There are a few CG's in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area that are nice. Don't know the situation on pull-thru's without calling 1st. Lots of hiking and water related (tubing rafting etc.) things to do close by. Even take a course at VT in camping. Here's a link that may be helpful.

Hope you find a good one!

There is Candy Cane or Candy Hill in Winchester area. It is only about 15 miles further north on I-81. Nice place and great sites.

Try Verona KOA, very nice or further north is Country Waye in Luray, Va. Further south is Wildwood Campground just off the parkway at junction of hwy 130 and 501. Also there is Natural Bridge Campground (Yogi). All are good.

Try the KOA Harrisonburg. I just spent one night there and also spent one night at the KOA Verona. IMHO, the KOA Harrisonburg is nicer. The one at Verona has a hot tub and cable TV, but both have swimming pools. At Verona I asked for a level pull through and 50 AMP, got an unlevel pull through with 30 AMP. At KOA Harrisonburg, I got exactly what I asked for.

Also check out Country Waye RV resort in Luray. Good reviews on this park.

North 340 campground! 7 miles north on #340 from I-64 in Waynesboro, Va. Within one hour you can be in Staunton, Lexington, Harrisonburg, Massennutten, Skyline Drive, Charlottesville, The great Shenadoah Valley.
Waynesboro is 5 miles away. Lots of wineries.
Armish and Mennonite presence. Nice restuarants, Civil War attractions, Caverns. This is a clean, nicely operated campground that accomadates large units with full hookup. Pull throughs available. 5 TV stations without Satilite. Have stayed here off and on for 20 years, never been dissapointed. Good Luck
