Gary, would that be a good place if you also want to go to Hershey for a day trip or would you recommend something closer to Hershey? We want to spend some time wandering around (and eating in) Amish country.

Mike & Peggy-
Mill Bridge Village is definitely in the heart of Amish country & I agree with GaryKD that it would be an ideal CG for you to stay. We were at that CG for the 2005 iRV2 Rally & enjoyed it.

Jim & BJ C-
Hershey is 45 minutes to an hour (can even be longer due to heavy traffic in area) NE of Mill Bridge Village. You might try Hershey Highmeadow CG for something right there at Hershey.

Mill Bridge is probably the closest to most things to do in that area. The owners are real nice people. There is an Amish farm bordering the CG. I go to Lancaster frequently and ALWAYS stay at Mill Bridge.

Hi Jim,
For me, Hershey an okay distance for a day trip. It can make for a long day. To eat and enjoy the Amish culture, Mill Bridge is a good centrally located CG.

Thanks for all the info. It sounds like for us it is two different destinations. DW will not want to leave the cats for a long day. When we get there, we will be taking our time and not in any rush anyway.

Pinch Pond CG is on RT 72 just south of the turnpike and about halfway between Hershey and Ephrata. I've never stayed there but my stick house was not too far from there.

The back of Pinch Pond CG borders directly ON the PA Turnpike. I wouldn't recommend staying there unless you are very sound sleepers. The trucks run the pike ALL night. Conversation around the campfire during the day or evening can be difficult at best. We were there in the fall, but maybe it's not as bad with your rig all closed up and the AC running in the summer.
