Chandler Arizona for a week

Need a nice RV park or CG for a week in Chandler to visit friends there. Will be there in mid October. Any suggestions.
Thanks

Good luck with "nice". We are currently in an alley, or might as well be. We spent weeks on the web looking for a nice park but couldn't find one. Don't get sucked in by the liberal misuse of the word "resort" either.. eveything down here seems to be park models and mobile homes with a scattering of RV pads to satisfy the licensing requirements. And it is the whole area, too: Gilbert, mesa, Chandler. Tons on the map, all mostly permanent snow birds in park models. I hope to go scouting in the toad this week and if I find something "nice", I will post. This is my first time here in a RV so maybe I am doing it wrong.

Do you need to be real close to your friends and do you need a RV park?

My two recommendations for that area are Lost Dutchman State Park which has some full hookups along with electric and dry sites. It's a beautiful park. We've volunteered there. The hiking is very nice.

The other is Usery park a Maricopa County park. It has large lush sites and great hiking. They have electric - not sure of full hookups but there is a dump station.

Maricopa County has other wonderful campgrounds scattered throughout the area but Usery would probably be the best for Chandler. McDowell Mountain might work, too.

The express highways make it easy to get to Chandler... just don't use them before 9am or from 3-6pm.

I totally agree about the RV parks in the area. We don't like them at all. Eagle View is the very best and without the Park models but it's kind of far from Chandler. It's on 87 north.

Both of the parks 2gypsies spoke of are excellent. Last year we were in Usery and hope to be in Lost Dutchman sometime this winter. Maricopa county and Arizona state parks are quite nice in general.

Found this on the RVParkreviews ap. Only 32 sites and no towables. You have to go to google earth or the review site to see pics.

This park is right next to I-10 and 202 in an industrial area. The noise would be horrific.

It amazes me that a place like this would add the word 'resort' to its name! There is absolutely nothing there except for restrooms and I would guess they charge at least $50/night.

any place in az with gravel is called a resort. do a google earth search to look for yourself. the only park other than usury is a commercial park, desert shadows rv resort. its not real fancy, or cheap, but it clean and well run. its on union hills west of I-17. not near chandler. but with roads as good as phoenix, it doesnt matter to me
its an hour to anyplace in phoenix

Viewpoint RV and Golf Resort in Mesa, just off the 202, about 30 minutes from Chandler. We stayed there for a month last June while between houses. Yes, it is 3/4 park models, but there is a large section in the back for RV's. They are gravel sites, but there is a concrete pad on each site for parking and setting out chairs.

If you are looking for a all RV park. Check out Meridian RV Resort in Apache Junction. A short trip on US 60 to Chandler.
