Channel Islands & Ventura, CA

We plan to visit the Channel Islands (for the day) mid-October. We need a place in the Ventura area for a few nights. Have info on the Ventura Beach RV Resort, but it is sure pricey. I know we'll have to pay more near the beach in CA, but we can manage w/o all the amenities. I also know about the County and State Parks, but they won't be taking reservations then, and not sure we can get a site. We'll be driving from Las Vegas (may stop half way), so will come through Santa Paula. We grew up in Southern CA (Laguna & San Diego) but am not familiar with this area at all. Thanks for any recommends...

We stayed at Emma Wood State Beach, right on the water, no hookups, very reasonable, and easy access to Ventura, Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands.

Between Emma Wood, Faria, and the Rincon Pkwy. you shouldn't have any problem. Ventura RV Resort( which we affectionately call "Camp Flood") is pricey but is well kept. Also, about 15 mi away is Lake Casitas which has alot of sites and they always take res. Good Luck.
