Charleston, SC

DW and I will be heading out on our first long-haul adventure with our fiver. We'll be pulling out, Monday morning, for Charleston. Plan on 3 days, 2 nights to get there, averaging around 300 miles/day. No push; no rush! Have res'vs at James Island County park for 5 nights and booked around $200 worth of tours and events, while there.

We've been planning since early winter and are very excited to get going. Have heard nothing but great things about the area so I hope it all works out as planned.

You will love Charleston. Much to see and do. If you like old war/military stuff, make sure and visit Patriots' Point and tour the ships.

If you like seafood, try RB's just over the bridge in Mt. Pleasant and Hyman's downtown.

James Island County Park is a real gem. Nice campground and many nice hiking/bicycle trails.

Enjoy and travel safely.

Stayed at James Island last fall really nice and clean, short trip to downtown Charleston. The down town flea market is fun, lots of great restraunts . Patriots Point has an air craft carrier you can tour. Lots of history. There is a shuttle that runs from the campground to town for cheap if you don't want to drive.(finding parking can be a challenge)
