Charleston/South Carolina RV Parks
Who's stayed in/near Charleston and where do you recommend? Thinking of doing spring break there in 2016?

Any other thumbs up for James Island. Full hook ups, 10 minutes from down town Charleston and lots to do at the park.

Mt Pleasant
I went during Christmas and couldn't get a site at James Island so I went to the KOA in Mt Pleasant for the first time. Stayed on lake, great campsite! Will stay again. Close to everything.

James Island County Park. Nice RV park, good WiFi, close to everything, wonderful hiking/biking paths, great dog park.

Another vote for the Mt. Pleasant KOA. Excellent location and on weekends they have a wagon tour of the Oakland Plantation (privately owned) which has the OLDEST house on Mt. Pleasant.

Awesome, thanks everyone! All of them looked like nice spots to stay but wanted some expert advice. 😉

We are not a fan of KOA, but the one in Mt Pleasant is darn nice! Went in the colder months but cannot recall which. CRS is guess! We had a lakefront site with plenty of length and could have parked two towed vehicles behind us.
most of the reason we wanted to be there was visiting points of interests and the restaurants along Shem Creek and the carrier at Patriots Point. Red's Ice House is excellent! More open summer type, deck dining but the atmosphere is great even in the winter. Try the blackened fish sandwich and the homemade chips!

We stayed at the Mt Pleasant KOA twice and both were good experiences. If we go back I think I'll try one south of the river as they look good from driving thru them. Wherever you stay, we think a meal at Page's Okra Grill is a must.
