Smile Charlotte, N.C.

On the Bucket list is Charlotte, N.C. Would like suggestions on where to stay and what to do. We are nascar fans! Have plenty of time to plan for spring or summer Thanks Bill

We stayed at Tom Johnson's. Don't miss the Nascar Hall of Fame.

Charlotte is a big town and can get very busy. I would first suggest that you plan your travels through the Charlotte area to avoid morning and afternoon rush hours. While I am in Michigan, my daughter lives on the north side of Charlotte in the Highland Creek area.

We normally stay with my daughter when we travel that way, so I am not extremely familiar with RV parks in the area. There is an RV park in Concord right by the speedway (east side of Charlotte). North toward Stateville is another RV park, I believe a KOA, and a nice RV Resort on Lake Norman also north of Charlotte. The closest I know of to downtown and the NASCAR track is the one in Concord.

If you would add your RV information to your signature it might help others make better suggestions for you.

The Lake Norman park is right on the lake. Very pretty and close to almost all your needs. However, about 25 minutes from downtown. Traffic is rough at rush hour!

Tom Johnson is the best place to stay. The Embassy Suites right up the hill from there has a Hertz rental car counter so you can rent a car to tour Charlotte. One of my fav places is MACS speed shop for BBQ some nights they have live music. If you like shows look at Bluemnthal website they always have something going on in the city. Charlotte also has a really good live after 5 downtown on Thursdays
