Checked into Cherry Hill Park this morning!

Never been to DC before . . . left work at 11:30 pm last night and drove through the rain most of the night from CT to Cherry Hill Park after getting recommendations from others online.

They had no problem letting us check in a couple hours early. Took a little nap then looked around . . . a little wet and chilly today but the facilities look very nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. Attended a very informative, free sightseeing info meeting this afternoon.

Weather is supposed to get drier and warmer each day, looking forward to a nice week enjoying everything DC has to offer!

We've always enjoyed Cherry Hill. You'll be in DC in under an hour. The bus that comes to the park that takes you to the train is great. We did that one year then we started taking the toad to the train. Either way is great. Enjoy.

We stayed at cherry hill when we visited DC. Go to the information session. It was very helpful to get to understand how to navigate the city. Ohhh and I had the best chicken salad sandwich in that little deli. Happy, happy!

We really enjoyed our time there. So much so were were there long enough to learn the transit system to the point we were not challenged no matter where it was we decided to go. We stayed until exhausting our list of 'must see's'.

Have fun and enjoy it! My bet is you'll remember the experience a LONG time!

Been home for a week now and decided to update this post . . .

Cherry Hill Park was great . . . we went into DC 5 days, Memorial Day at Arlington was an experience I'll carry with me the rest of my life! The bus from Cherry Hill worked and the Metro system was impressive. If we had a toad, I would have driven to the Metro station to save time.

The only negative we had is that we had to call a taxi on Memorial Day morning to get to the Metro before the bus started running . . . the taxi driver asked which way we wanted to go, we asked for the quickest route and he jumped on the highway, no problem until he passed by an exit marked "Metro" . . . I had a "My tracks" app running on my smartphone and watched as he got off a later exit and made a big loop around before bringing us to the Metro. I chose not to confront him before we got to the station, the meter read $16.75 and I had heard the fare should have been about $15 . . . I gave him $17 and left, not worth arguing . . . he probably thinks I'm cheap, I think he's a thief. Looking back, I wish I had told him that I knew what he did and that's why there was no tip. Glad I didn't stay and argue, we just caught the train and made it to Arlington in time to get into the ceremonies!

Feel as though we only scratched the surface of all there is to see in DC. I'm sure we'll go back. The nice lady that ran the info session said that she had been workamping at Cherry Hill for years, might be worth checking that out if you are so inclined.

Everyone we encountered at Cherry Hill, staff and other guests were really nice people. The facilities were great, enjoyed the pool, restaurant and the dogs liked the dog park. Office staff were very helpful and there's even a RV supply area in the store with fair prices.

I feel very confident recommending them to others, Enjoy!
