Would those of y'all that have camped in Cherokee, NC please share your opinions of the campground(s) you have stayed at? We're thinking about going there in the summer of '08. Thanks.

Cherolee makes a nice base camp for visiting the surrounding area. We stay at the KOA CG. The contact number is 800-562-7784. The CG is convenient to getting around the area, clean, very well maintained. There is a large creek running through the CG (nice for the kids). Concrete pad for the coach and people. Indoor and outdoor pool. Store that is on site. There is a review of this CG in Campground Review section of this iRV2 web site.

Nice area to spend some time with nature. Nothing else there.

In the area there is much to do with nature, like UPS 34 posted. The GSM National park is next to the KOA CG.

In addition, the local native American tribe has some excellent shows and entertainment to provide visitors with a view of their history. There is also a casino, owned by the native Americans. They have Las Vegas style entertainment.

Go here to view a web site about the area. Consider doing a Google search with the words "cherokee north carolina". You'll find quite a variety of activities.
