Cherokee NC KOA - Big rig friendly?

Peggy would like to be able to spend time at the casino in Cherokee on her birthday in mid May (not my thing, but she enjoys it). I've been looking for a big rig friendly place to stay. Looks like the KOA might be OK, but after looking at Google earth I'm a bit concerned about access to the park.

Anyone been there with a big rig? Is it readily accessible, a challenge? Any other suggestions in the immediate area?

We'll be travelling from our base in central South Carolina.

Happy Holiday RV Village...close to casino and sits on a nice trout stream! The Cherokee KOA is big rig friendly...never stayed there though...I would not recommend Socco Road if you are coming from Banner Elk...steep and lots of curves...stay on Cherokee Expressway which turns into/ meets 441...

Hi JMonroe,
The KOA is big rig friendly. I've stayed there. Nice place, I'd stay there again.

The road to get to the campground (Big Cove Rd.) is a little curvy....There is a nice waterfall (Mingle Falls) a little further down the road. There is one hair pin turn were you need to go very slow in case someone is cutting the corner getting out of a small general store on the outside of the turn.

We didn't stay there, which I thought was over-priced $$$, but it looked like the sites were nice sized. We stayed in the park at Smokemont. Smoky pics

My wife liked the casino too. I liked the WoW factor of the Casino grounds.
