Question Cheyenne Frontier Days this July?

Thinking about spending a day or 2 (or more...) at Cheyenne Frontier Days this July while visiting family in Denver area. Never been to that event - suggestions on which day(s) to visit, which events to see, how much time to allow, etc. Worth trying to stay closer, or just drive from Denver? Any/all input appreciated! New England Yankees but have a cowboy hat...! ST

If you plan to stay at a park book early. The even is so massive that there are a couple of ranchers/landowners that setup RV parks in the their fields and sell out. Rumor that some of them have waiting lists since the same folks come back year after year.
