Rockport might be good for you along with Fredericksburg - but no beach there. I can envision that Fredericksburg would have an old-time quaint Christmas on their Main St. Good luck!

Wow , think we may have stayed there about 10 years ago in a rental c class .
If my memory serves ( not reliable ) it was a great spot , nice beach , bit windy , few miles from a bar and diner .
Thanks that's a great idea

If we go next month, I'll get you some pictures. Finances are of a concern right now, but you only live once, and I get little time off work....

In re-reading your original post you state that you won't have a towed vehicle. In that case, probably Fredericksburg wouldn't work for you although I think it would be a great place at Christmas. The RV parks are close - perhaps a mile or so away - but not close enough to walk to town I wouldn't think but maybe yes, if you're good walkers. It's been a while since we were there and we always tow a car so perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe someone else can chime in on Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg RV Park always had something going on in their clubhouse - potlucks, etc. Probably around Christmas it would be fun. Good luck!

Haha. I got married in Fredericksburg. Very quaint little town for sure.

If you are looking for "Beach", I would have to recommend Mustang Island State Park - reasonable price, great location close to happenings in both Rockport and South Padre Island. We stay there at least once a year, and love it! You could also hit the KOA on South Padre, which is closer to "things", as you are not taking a towed vehicle. Or, if you want "on the cheap", you can boondock anywhere along Calhoun and Aransas County roads/beaches - pick a spot, stay for a day or two and enjoy!

If you are in Fredericksburg don't miss "Lukenbach" 15min away if you like chillin with a beer and free music licks!
