Clark County Shooting Complex and "Bare Bones" RV Park Las Vegas

Just started my first Workamping assignment at the Clark County Shooting Complex and "Bare Bones" RV Park. Because of lack of advertising and restrictions that have recently been released, this North Las Vegas location has virtually gone un-noticed. We have 80 full hookuo (30 & 50amp), 130'X24' pull throughs, club house with WiFi and some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises with aerial views of the Las Vegas night lights. It's gated at night with each camper having having the code for late night access. The "Strip" is 30 min. away and Costco, Walmart, Starbucks and the Aliante casino are all within a 5 minute drive.
AND GET THIS - IT'S ONLY $20 PER NIGHT!!! The address is 11357 N. Decatur Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada 89131 Ph. #702-455-2000 I still need to revamp the web page to include more updated info on the RV park. You can email me in the meantime for additional info. kraffty1rick@yahoo.com

Location: Between I-15 & Hwy 95 on the 215 Beltway. Take the N. Decatur Blvd exit off the 215 and head north towards the mountains 4 miles.

You really need to get more info about the campground on the web site.

I can attest to the area but not the RV park (not knocking the RV Park). My wife and I are thinking of moving out towards the Aliante section of Vegas and we can say it is definitely one of the better "unknowns" in all of the Vegas areas. We also found the Aliante Casino to be very nice and the people very hospitable. We also like to shoot so that is a plus. Good luck with this as you have found the diamond in the rough out there. If they ever decide to sell a permanent spot out there let me know as I would be very interested in talking to you.

I agree, the web site lacks alot for promoting the RV park - I'm meeting with the director in an hour to discuss that very thing. Thanks for the input.

We stayed there two nights last winter. We liked it and will stop there this winter on our way to Arizona. They do have showers and a clubhouse type facility intended primarily for the shooters, but quite nice. Absolutely spectacular view at night. The park location is close to the trap/skeet/sporting clays range and there will be some noise from shooting during the day and on Wednesday nights until about 9pm. It is pretty plain--just a paved parking area. No wireless at the parking site but there is at the clubhouse as I remember.
This is a spectacular shooting facility built with a spectacular amount of federal money. The report is that it has not been successful since it opened a year ago, and has a new manager working hard to make it more successful. The RV parking area is really a small part of the facility

They use many resident volunteers to help run this place. They only ask for 16/20 hours week over 2 days with 5 days off for most of the positions. Full hook ups with shade shelters for rv. They must have about 20 spots and it is located in a different area then the 'public' camping areas. We were supposed to be working there Oct-Jan this year but had complications with heart surgery and had to withdraw. Hope they'll take us back in the future.

The RV sites are along the shotgun range. You do hear the noise some depending on how busy it is (usually there are only a handful of shooters)
They are on their winter hours now: Weds. is league night 8-10 pm (it's busiest then), Thurs.-Sun. 8-5 pm and Mon. & Tues all ranges are closed for maintenance so no shooting on those days. I would say if you think you might be bothered by the noise, plan on coming in Sunday afternoon and stay until Weds. morning. Request any sites from 60-80 as they are at the end of the loop and are generally a block or so from the active shooting.

Thanks Kraffty1.

I guess the sound couldn't be any worse than Disneyland fireworks at 9:30pm.

How long of a commitment do they require for work campers?
