Question Cody, WY Canpgrounds

We plan to be in the Cody, WY area later in the year and would appreciate any campground suggestions for our 45' class A needing FHU's. Thanks in advance.

Absaroka Bay RV Park is a nice place. It's on hwy 14 just east of downtown. It's very convenient to everything.

Ponderosa Campground

Big Dude, just this morning we called Ponderosa Campground and made reservations for July. The KOA was already full. We spoke to a lovely woman (Skip) who also kind of served as a tour guide singing the praises of all there is to do in Cody. The CG is in town, but private, and she said it was the nicest campground in Cody (of course....what else would she say?) ;-) It's walking distance to the town and the Buffalo Bill Museum. The only thing that we weren't crazy about is that they only take checks or cash.....no credit cards. But we were so impressed with them that we decided to stay there anyway.

Absaroka Bay RV is where we stay (3-4 days at a time) when in Cody. You will probably need your tow vehicle. We still haven't seen everything!!

Easy access and exit with a 2012 Tour (42' 11").

We stayed at Yellowstone Valley Inn on RT 14 in a 5er. It is half way between the east entrance of Yellowstone park and Cody WY. We camp next to the Shoshone River in the campground and enjoyed the view and the bear sign on RT14. Enjoy your time there a lot to do. Make sure you drive the Beartooth Highway and Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. Great day trips.

X2 on the Ponderosa Campground! We stayed there a week back in 2012 and loved it! Very convenient to everything with plenty of sites for the largest rigs!

3X for Ponderosa. We stayed there a week in June 2011. It is right next door to the Buffalo Bill Museum which is a must see. It will take two days to see it all from the western art collection to the gun collection to the dioramas. The rodeo and the Erma Hotel are also must sees but we used the toad to check out the Chief Joseph scenic highway and the Bear Tooth scenic highway. The campground was clean and friendly and they can recommend places and people to see. We went to Cody to get my refrig fixed and stayed a week.
