Hmmm....I've never heard it called Kendall.

Yes, we drove up to Clear Lake - quite a ride! The road starts very near to the BLM dispersed camping spot.

It's marked on the map in the link you posted.

That road to Clear Lake look pretty ominous even on Google Earth. I bet it is even rougher than it looks.

Yes, it's rough and narrow near the top beyond all the switchbacks. Beautiful, especially with the Columbine blooming.

O.K. Kendall it is. Everyone seems to refer to it as South Mineral creek so when there, keep that in mind.

Ha Ha. That's the way I remember it too, from when I was about 8 YO.

Thanks to all that contributed. My base itinerary is set. We decided not to try to see too large an area for only a 17 day vacation. we have done this in the past and we ended up driving too much and not taking in the sites of each area. We will concentrated it to the San Juans. We have some flex days in between so we may deviate a somewhat.

Chama, NM - TBD
Durango, CO - Junction Creek NF Campground
Dolores, CO - Priest Gulch RV Park
Silverton, CO - South Mineral Park

Now I just need to do a lot of research and plan some fishing, hiking, and day trips.
