In addition to Colter Bay and Fishing Bridge I also stayed a week at Yellowstone Edge Campground which is 45 minutes outside the North Entrance of Yellowstone in Emigrant Montana. Full hookups and wifi with nice spots right by the Yellowstone River which should be moving briskly with snow melt. We explored most of Yellowstone from there.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I think we will stay in West Yellowstone for a few days and then move to Colter Bay CG for the rest of our trip.

Colter Bay is A-OK. You must book early. It may already be too late for your preferred dates.

I just checked and the online booking won't go over a year in advance? Are you able to book further in advance by calling in?
